Distribution: Native to Sicilia, Balkan Peninsula, Ukraine and the Eastern Mediterranean according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med Plantbase (source: Hörandl and Raab-Straube, 2015).
Habitat: Wet habitats- streams, river banks and other moist places.
Flowering period: Spring (APR,MAY).
