Taxonomy: Fam. Compositae// Genus: Erigeron// Species: Erigeron annuus (L.) Desf.// Subspecies: Erigeron annuus subsp. septentrionalis (Fernald & Wiegand) Wagenitz .

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976).

Lifeform: Biennial; the first year of the lifecycle is vegetative (basal rosette stage). Flowering and fruiting occurs in the second year.

Distribution: Native from Canada to U.S.A., Nicaragua to Panama; introduced in Europe, parts of Asia and parts of North America according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Near rivers, paths, ruderal areas.

Flowering period: Summer- autumn: JUL, AUG, SEP.
