Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Silene// Species: Silene exaltata Friv.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Chater and Walters in Tutin et al. (1964).

Reported for the first time for the flora of North Macedonia by Vladimirov et al. (2007).

Distribution: Native to Southeast Europe and West Siberia according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Reported for the first time for North Macedonia by Vladimirov et al. (2007).

Lifeform: Perennial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Habitat: Found in the ruderal hilly region in the southern foot of Osogovo near village of Beli.

Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL, AUG.
