Determined according to Tutin in Tutin et al. (1964) and Micevski (1993) as Dianthus pallens Sibth. & Sm. In The Euro+Med Plant Base (source: Marhold, 2011+) this taxon is accepted as subspecies of Dianthus monadelphus Vent.
Distribution: Southeast Europe to Turkey according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew), also Jordan according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+).
Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Habitat: Open and dry habitats -dry grasslands, hill pastures.
Flowering period: Summer – fall: JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP. Plants can be found flowering as late as November under favorable conditions.
