Distribution: Europe, West Asia and East Asia – parts of China according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Found generally in wet conditions – moist soils, near streams and rivers, in shaded positions.
Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
