Taxonomy: Fam. Fabaceae// Genus: Hippocrepis // Species: Hippocrepis ciliata Willd.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (2001).

Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Mediterranean region according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (Source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Found in open habitats – dry grassland/pastures, on limestone.

Flowering period:  Spring: APR, MAY.
