Distribution: Native from Central Europe (Slovakia) to the Mediterranean region and Caucasus, Macaronesia, Northeast Tropical Africa, Arabian Peninsula according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Hill pastures/ grasslands, clearings of oak forests.
Flowering period: Spring- summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.
