Taxonomy: Apiaceae// Genus: Cachrys// Species: Cachrys cristata DC.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Matevski (Umbelliferae – key to genera) and Micevski (Hippomarathrum Link) in Matevski (2005). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Hand, 2011+) is Cachrys cristata DC.

Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Italy, Balkan Peninsula and Asiatic Turkey according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Hand, 2011+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Open habitats at lower altitudes – hill pastures and grasslands.

Flowering period: Late spring- summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.

Locality: hills near Kochani.
