Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976).

Lifeform: Biennial.

Distribution: Native to Southeast Europe (the Balkan Peninsula and Romania) according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Greuter, 2006+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  In the Osogovo region it is found in clearings and on the edges of mixed oak forests, at c. 850 m altitude.

Flowering period: Spring – summer (MAY, JUN, JUL).
