Distribution: Native from Italy and Balkan Peninsula to the East Mediterranean, Krym according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew) and The Euro+Med Plantbase (source: Hörandl and Raab-Straube, 2015).
Habitat: Grassland, sparse bushland, on the edges of mixed oak forests.
Flowering period: Spring (MAY).
