Variability: Two varieties are present on Osogovo: Lathyrus laxiflorus (Desf.) Kuntze var. laxiflorus and Lathyrus laxiflorus var. glabratus (Grieseb.) Kož.

Distribution: Native from Southeast Europe to Iran according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).
Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Habitat: Found in mixed oak forests – among trees, on the edges of forests.
Flowering period: Late spring – summer: MAY, JUN.
