Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Salvia// Species: Salvia sclarea L.

Habitat: Found in open habitats – grassland and disturbed ground- alongside roads, wasteland, near settlements. Occasionally cultivated as garden plant.

Distribution: Native from the Mediterranean to Central Asia and West Himalaya according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal.

Lifeform: Biennial to perennial according to Tutin et al. (1972). The populations in the Osogovo region show a biennial life cycle.

Flowering period: Summer (JUN, JUL).
