Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Central Europe to Japan and Vietnam according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Mountain pastures, along mountain streams, edges and clearings of European beech forests.

Flowering period: Summer (JUN, JUL, AUG).
