Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Clearings and edges of beech forests. Recorded in Ponikva at c. 1300–1500 m a.s.l.

Flowering period: Summer: JUL, AUG.
