Lifeform: Perennial; geophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Europe, the Mediterranean to Iran according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open habitats – grasslands, pastures, sparce woods, clearings of forests, ion the oak and European beech zone.

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
