Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1993).

Habitat: Dry and open habitats- grasslands, sparse bushland, edges of oak forests, rocky terrains, river gorges.

Distribution: Native to Italy, Central Europe (Austria, Hungary, Switzerland), southeast Europe to Turkey according to the Euro+Med PlantBase (Marhold, 2011) and Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
