Distribution: Native to France, Italy, Balkan Peninsula to Turkey according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).
Habitat: Found in open habitats- grassland, clearings of mixed oak forests, alongside roads.
Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
