Taxonomy: Fam. Solanaceae// Genus: Datura// Species: Datura stramonium L.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Moore in Tutin et al. (1972).

Distribution: Native from South Central U.S.A. (Texas) to Central America; introduced elsewhere according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Introduced in Europe (The Euro+Med PlantBase, source: Valdés, 2012+). Not native – introduced, naturalized in North Macedonia and the Osogovo region.

Habitat: Disturbed ground, cultivated land, wastelands, near settlements, and other ruderal areas.

Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Summer-autumn: JUL, AUG, SEP.
