Acer tataricum L.

Taxonomy: Fam. Sapindaceae// Genus: Acer// Species: Acer tataricum L. The taxonomic classification is given according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Raab-Straube, 2018).

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski and Matevski, 2005).

Lifeform:  Bush or small tree; phanerophyte (microphanerophyte) according to the  Raunkiær system.

Distribution:  Native from East Central Europe to Japan and Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Mixed oak forests, woodland, alongside roads in the zone of downy oak- oriental hornbeam forest community (ass. Querco-Carpinetum orientalis macedonicum).

Flowering period: Spring.
