Athyrium filix-femina (L.) Roth

Taxonomy: Fam. Athyriaceae// Genus: Athyrium// Species: Athyrium filix-femina (L.) Roth.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Micevski (1985) and Jermy in Tutin et al. (1964).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Macaronesia, Northwest Africa, Europe to Siberia and Mongolia; Turkey and Caucasus and Iran; West and West Central U.S.A. according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Garden, Kew).

Habitat: Shaded and moist places – river gorges, forests and in open habitats- subalpine pastures on the edges of streams and rivers, as parts of the Hydrophilous tall herb fringe communities, from c. 800 up to 1800 m altitude.
