Determined according to the botanical key provided by Kožuharov (1976 in Tutin et al.) as Jurinea consanguinea subsp. arachnoidea (Bunge) Kožuharov (syn. Jurinea arachnoidea Bunge). In The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Greuter, 2006+) the taxon is accepted at the species level.

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Bulgaria and Romania to Central Asia and Caucasus according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Dry and open habitats – hill pastures, on calcareous soil. Calcicole.

Flowering period: Late spring- early summer (MAY, JUN).
