Jurinea arachnoidea Bunge (syn. Jurinea consanguinea subsp. arachnoidea (Bunge) Kožuharov)

Taxonomy: Fam. Compositae// Genus: Jurinea// Species: Jurinea arachnoidea Bunge.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976) as Jurinea consanguinea subsp. arachnoidea (Bunge) Kožuharov (syn. Jurinea arachnoidea Bunge). In The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Greuter, 2006+) the taxon is accepted at the species level.

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Bulgaria and Romania to Central Asia and Caucasus according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat:  Dry and open habitats- dry grassland/ hill pastures. Calcicole.

Flowering period: Late spring- early summer: MAY, JUN.
