Distribution: Native from Spain to Southeast Europe, Turkey and Syria according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlanBase (source: Marhold, 2011+).
Habitat: Open habitats- hill pastures, dry grasslands, rocky terrains, subalpine pastures, from the lowland up to c. 1450 m altitude.
