Taxonomy: Fam. Lamiaceae// Genus: Prunella// Species: Prunella vulgaris L.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided in Flora Europaea (Tutin et al., 1972).

Lifeform: Perrenial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native to Eurasia, Northwest Africa, North America to Central America according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Grasslands, clearings and edges of forests and woods from the lowland up to the subalpine belt.

Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL, AUG.
