Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski and Matevski, 2005).
Lifeform: Annual, biennial or perennial; therophyte or hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Species with worldwide distribution and of an uncertain origin. According to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) it is native from Mexico to Venezuela and Peru, Caribbean and introduced in ither parts of the world. The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Henning & Raab-Straube, 2016) considers it native to the Mediterranean region and parts of Europe. Groom et al. (2019) propose south-east Asia as a place of origin.
Habitat: Disturbed ground – orchards, paths and roadsides, ruderal and urban areas, gardens.
Flowering period: Spring – autumn: APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP.
