Distribution: Native from the Mediterranean to the Arabian Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).
Habitat: Usually found on thermophilus sites at lower altitudes – rocky terrains, rock cliffs, shrub vegetation and forests in the zone of Querco-carpinetum orientalis macedonicum association.
Lifeform: Shrub or smal tree; phanerophyte – microphanerophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.
Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
