Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea (Tutin et. al, 1980).

Distribution: Native to East Europe, Caucasus, Indo-China to Japan and Russia (Russian Far East and Altay – Siberia) according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Habitat: Mainly found in moist habitats- near rivers, rice fields, ruderal areas, gardens.

Flowering period: Summer – autumn: JUL, AUG, SEP.
