Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Micevski and Matevski in Micevski (2001) and Ivimey-Cook in Tutin et al. (1968).

Lifeform: Annual; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Macaronesia, West Europe, Mediterranean to Iran and Ethiopia according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).

Habitat:  Dry grasslands and hill pastures.

Flowering period:  Late spring – early summer: MAY, JUN.
