Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Matevski (2005 – Umbelliferae, key to genera) and Micevski (2005, in Matevski, Caucalis L.).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Central Asia and Afghanistan, Northwest Africa according to the distribution information provided by Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open terrains – hill pastures/ dry grasslands, near cultivated land and roadsides.

Flowering period: Spring – summer: APR, MAY, JUN.
