Distribution: Native from Europe to the Meditteranean, Central Asia and West Himalaya; South Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Open habitats- grasslands, pastures, rocky terrains.
Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.
