Distribution: Native to North America, Caribbean and West South America; introduced elsewhere according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic gardens, Kew).
Hosts: Found on Chondrila juncea (Asteraceae) as host. This species parasites on members of the Asteraceae, Chenopodiaceae, Polygonaceae, Lamiaceae, Solanaceae, Poaceae, Verbenaceae, Berssicaceae, Malvaceae, Onagraceae and other families (Matevski, 2010).
Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL, AUG.
