Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski and Matevski, 2005) as Polygala rhodopea (Velen.) Janch. The accepted name in The Euro+Med Plantbase (source: Raab-Straube, 2018+) is  Polygala supina subsp. rhodopea (Velen.) McNeill.

Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula – Bulgaria to Greece according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med Plantbase (source: Raab-Straube, 2018+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Grasslands/ pastures and rocky terrains.
