Determined according to the botanical key provided by Damboldt (1976 in Tutin et al.).

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula and Romania according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (Castroviejo et al., 2010+). In Romania it is found only in the Dobrogea region (Sârbu, Sârbu, and Mihai, 2009). Balkan endemic.

Habitat:  Hill pastures on calcareous soil. Calcicole.

Flowering period:  Late spring to summer (MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG).
