Distribution: Native from Europe to the Mediterranean and Iran according to the  Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Perennial succulent. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Habitat: Rocky terrains, edges and clearings of oak forests.

Flowering time: Summer: JUN, JUL.
