Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Gajić (1975 in Josifović, species level) and Dostál (1976 in Tutin et al., species and subspecies level).

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Southeast Europe according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Greuter, 2006+).

Habitat: Open habitats: clearings of forests, rocky terrains.

Flowering period: Summer (JUL, AUG).
