Taxonomy: Fam. Juncaceae// Genus: Juncus// Species: Juncus bufonius L.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Snogerup in Tutin et al. (1980) and Nikolić in Josifović (1976).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Eurasia; parts of Africa; Australia; North to South America according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Near streams, ponds and other wet and damp habitats, from c. 600 up to 1600 m altitude.

Flowering period: Summer: JUN, JUL, AUG.
