Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 5 (Snogerup in Tutin et al., 1980) and Flora SR Srbije VIII (Nikolić in Josifović, 1976).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Eurasia; parts of Africa; Australia; North to South America according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Found in wet and damp habitats.

Flowering period: Summer to early fall: JUL, AUG, SEP.
