Taxonomy: Fam. Poaceae// Genus: Eragrostis// Species: Eragrostis minor Host

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 5 (Tutin et al., 1980).

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Old World – Central Europe to South and East Europe; Asia- north to Altay, Buryatiya, Chita and Tuva in Russia; Africa- North Africa to Senegal and East Africa, Madagascar according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Disturbed ground – cultivated land, roadsides, railoards, near settlements and other ruderal areas.

Flowering period:  Summer: JUL, AUG.
