Taxonomy: Fam. Urticaceae// Genus: Urtica// Species: Urtica urens L.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1993).

Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Russian Far East, Manchuria and Tibet (China) and West Asia; North and Northeast Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Ruderal areas- gardens, wastelands, in and near settlements.

Flowering period: Spring – summer: APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG.
