Taxonomy: Fam. Ranunculaceae// Genus: Caltha// Species: Caltha palustris L.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (1985) as Caltha palustris subsp. laeta (Schott, Nyman et Kotschy) Beck. This taxon is not accepted at the subspecies level by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Raab-Straube et al., 2014+).

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Temperate and Subarctic Northern Hemisphere – North America, Europe, Asia to Himalayas and Myanmar according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).

Habitat:  Wet habitats- near streams, ponds, and other bodies of water.

Flowering period: Spring to summer, sporadically until fall: MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG (-SEP, -OCT).
