Determined according to the botanical key provided by Chater in Tutin et al., 1980 (Flora Europaea Vol. 5).

Distribution: Native from West and Central Europe to West China, the Mediterranean, Eritrea and Arabian Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat: Wet habitats – moist ground, streams.

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Late spring: MAY.
