Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Gajić in Josifović (1973) and Ehrendorfer et al. in Tutin et al. (1976).
Note: Somewhat similar to Galium album Miller, from which it differs in the smaller size of the flowers, the lax inflorescence and leaves abruptly narrowed towards apex.
Lifeform: Perennial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.
Distribution: Native from Europe to Siberia, Libya according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Open woods, shrubland, roadsides, near orchards.
Flowering period: Summer: JUN.
