Determined according to the botanical key provided by Zahariadi in Tutin et al. (1980) as Ornithogalum orthophyllum subsp. kochii (Parl.) Zahar., loc. cit. (1978). In The Euro+Med Plantbase (Raab-Straube, 2022+) this taxon is considered a synonym of Ornithogalum kochii Parl., Fl. Ital. 2: 440. 1852.
Lifeform: Bulbous perennial; Geophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native to Northwest Africa, from Central and South Europe to Iran according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Habitat: Woods and forests, usually in the oak forests belt in somewhat shaded places, at c. 800 to 900 m altitude. Found in the region of village of Pantelej and in “Kochanski dol” locality near village of Shtalkovica.
Flowering period: Late spring: MAY.
