Determined according to the botanical key provided by Cecchi et al. (2018) as Odontarrhena chalcidica (Janka) Španiel & al. According to Micevski (1995) and Ball et al. (1964 in Tutin et al.), the plant keys out as Alyssum subvirescens Form., Verh. Naturf. Ver. Brünn 37: 195 (1898). According to the taxonomic concept adopted by The Euro+Med PlantBase (Marhold, 2011+), Alyssum subvirescens Form. is considered a synonym of Odontarrhena chalcidica (Janka) Španiel & al. in Pl. Syst. Evol. 301: 2484. 2015.

Lifeform: Perennial plant. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan peninsula according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (Marhold, 2011+). According to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew), this species is native from the Balkan Peninsula to Türkiye.

Habitat:  Grasslands and clearings of oak forests. Recorded at c. 700 m altitude near the village of Nivichani, on gabro.

Flowering period:  Early summer: JUN.

Plants during flowering and fruiting stage.

Plants in top senescence stage, with ripe seeds.
