Cupressus arizonica Greene

Taxonomy: Fam. Cupressaceae// Genus: Cupressus// Species: Cupressus arizonica Greene.

Determined according to the botanical key provided by Amaral Franco (1964 in Tutin et al.).

Lifeform:  Perennial, tree. Phanerophyte according to the  Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to USA (Central and Southeast Arizona to West Texas) and Mexico (North Mexico) according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). Introduced species in the Osogovo region of North Macedonia.

Habitat: Coniferous plantations in the lower parts of the Osogovo region.

Flowering period:  Winter to spring, starting from January.

Locality: hilly region near village of Beli. Date: 18.01.2026.
