Determined according to the botanical key provided by Stace (1980 in Tutin et al.) as Desmazeria rigida (L.) Tutin subsp. rigida. The accepted name in The Euro+Med Plantbase (Valdés et al., 2009+) is Catapodium rigidum (L.) C. E. Hubb. subsp. rigidum.

Lifeform: Annual plant. Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Macaronesia, West Europe to the Mediterranean and West Asia according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Rocky terrains.

Flowering period: Late spring – early summer. MAY, JUN.
