The species was determined as Scabiosa argentea L. according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976). This name is considered a synonym in the Euro+Med Plant Base. The accepted name is Lomelosia argentea (L.) Greuter & Burdet.
