Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski in Micevski (2005).

Lifeform: Biennial plant.

Distribution: Macaronesia to North and East Africa, Europe to South China according to the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Pastures, dry grasslands and rocky terrains, shrubland, edges and clearings of forests.

Flowering period: Summer: JUL, AUG.
