Taxonomy: Fam: Crassulaceae// Genus: Hylotelephium // Species: Hylotelephium maximum (L.) Holub.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Micevski (1998) and Webb (1964 in Tutin et al.) as Sedum maximum (L) Suter. The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011) is Hylotelephium maximum (L.) Holub.

Distribution: Native from Europe to West Siberia in Russia, Caucasus and Turkey according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Perennial succulent. Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Habitat: River gorges, edges and clearings of forests – on rocks.

Flowering period: Late summer- autumn: SEP, OCT.
