Taxonomy: Fam. Rubiaceae// Genus: Cruciata// Species: Cruciata pedemontana (Bellardi) Ehrend.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 4 (Tutin et al., 1976).

Distribution: The native range of this species is Northwest Africa (Morocco), Europe to West and Central Asia according to the Plants of the World Online portal.

Habitat:  Dry grassland, sparse bushland, rocks, rocky terrains with shallow soil.

Lifeform: Annual, therophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Spring .
