Crataegus heldreichii Boiss.

Taxonomy: Fam. Rosaceae// Genus:  Crataegus// Species: Crataegus heldreichii Boiss.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1998).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Microphanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Kurtto, 2009).

Habitat:  Thermophilus mixed oak forests (Querco-Carpinetum orientalis ass.).

Flowering period: Late spring (May to June).
