Taxonomy: Fam. Paeoniaceae// Genus:  Paeonia// Species: Paeonia peregrina Mill.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1995).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Italy, Balkan Peninsula, Romania, European and Asiatic Turkey according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Aghababian, 2011).

Habitat:  Clearings and edges of oak woods.

Flowering period: Spring (MAY).
